INFORMATION FROM ST ALBAN'S COLLEGE RE:
ARRANGEMENTS FOR PARENTS
There will be prego rolls, braai packs and salads on sale in the area
outside the Sanatorium overlooking Moshate and we would encourage you to
bring your own picnic packs should you wish to braai. The Pavilion and
Tuck Shop will also be open and well stocked to cater for your every
need.
Please join the staff of both schools after the 1st XV Rugby game for
drinks and snacks in the pavilion.
Wormser field will be open for secure parking on the day as there might
be a rush for parking down the main avenue. Please follow the signs down
Maldon Road past the Chapel gate should you wish to use this parking
area.

ST ALBAN'S FIXTURE: TRANSPORT DETAILS
Firstly, may I thank all those of you who have been prepared to help
with accommodating our boys this coming weekend and who have shared
ideas on the issues related to transport. After much consultation,
including with Staff from St Alban's College who know the area, it would
seem that our best option as a drop-off point for boys staying the night
in Johannesburg will be the CALTEX One-Stop off the N1 to Pretoria which
occurs in the vicinity of Mid-Rand. This is the facility which houses
BJ's restaurant and is sometimes referred to as 'The Bridge'.
Once boys have been picked up one can then get back onto the N1 (North)
and, a few kilometres up the N1, is the 'Olifantsfontein' off-ramp. If
one takes this off-ramp one can then turn right across the motorway and
take the on-ramp back to Johannesburg. In fact, if one wanted to, one
could do this prior to the arrival of the buses and be parked, waiting
for the boys, on the south-bound parking area of the Caltex Complex.
Boys could then cross over the motorway through the BJ's restaurant
facility which spans the motorway. If one does this the off-ramp to
take on the N1 south is, once again, 'New Road'.
We aim to leave Hilton at 10-00am. With an approximately half-hour stop
at Harrismith we should be at the drop-off point by about 17h00. With
Johannesburg traffic, especially at this time on a Friday afternoon, I
am afraid that this will be dependent on quite a few things! Should you
wish to contact me in order to ascertain our position on the afternoon
of travel please use this number: 082 829 3527.
Once we have dropped off boys who will be spending the night in
Johannesburg we will then head on to St Alban's College, hoping to
arrive by approximately 18h00. Boys staying in Pretoria and surrounds
will then be able to be picked up from St Alban's.

Schools Finals to be held at Glendower, Johannesburg.
